Library Information & Book Checkout Policy

Check Out Procedures:Students in 6th grade Pre-AP may check out 2 books, and they are due 3 weeks from the checkout date. General Education and 5th grade pre-AP may check out 1 book, and they are due 3 weeks from the checkout date.

Fines:  Fines are charged for late books at the rate of 10 cents each school day each book is late.  There is one day of grace with no fines.  When a student owes $1.00 in fines, he/she may not check out a book until the book is returned and the fine is cleared.

Lost Books:  Lost books must be paid for using the current replacement cost of the book(s).

Students come with other classroom teachers for research and/or additional presentations.  Students may come to the library at additional times with permission from a teacher.

Discovery Education Streaming - Discovery Education Streaming is an amazing resource for digital classroom media. Over 5000 videos, 20,000 images, 4000 audio files, 20,000 encyclopedia articles, lesson plans, classroom tools, and much, much, more!

PowerMediaPlus - PowerMediaPlus, is another great digital classroom media resource. Over 3000 videos, 20,000 images, 6000 audio files (including audio books, classical music and so much more). PMP even includes a Podcast tool!

Teaching Books -  Time-saving portal to thousands of online resources to explore children's and young adult books and their authors. Immediate access to short movies, audio book readings, book discussions, and more.

World & I School - Cross-curriculum resource with a broad range of articles by scholars and experts in their fields. Includes magazine's full contents from 1986 plus weeky Spanish and ESL Programs.

Britannica - Britannica Online offers quality encyclopedia and related materials for students of all levels. Users can also take advantage of the learning materials, a collection of educational exercises, activities, and study guides.

EBSCO - More than 200 full text and secondary databases are available through EBSCOhost ® including Student Research Center for middle and high school students and Searchasaurus and Kids Search for elementary students.

World Book Web - A collection of resources for differentiated learning including read alouds, text translation, video, ebooks, along with plays and skits to help build reading fluency and content comprehension for all ages.
